Last week, our office held a staff appreciation afternoon at the Culinary Center of Kansas City (CCKC) in old Overland Park. We had a lovely lunch and dessert. Our staff then participated in CCKC’s “All Hands For Hunger” teambuilding program, where we prepared the same meal for the City Union Mission. City Union Mission has provided warm beds, nutritious food and safety for thousands of poverty stricken and homeless families in Kansas City since 1924. CCKC sweetened the deal by making a donation to our charity of choice, as well! We highly recommend this wonderful teambuilding and charitable afternoon.
We divided up into 4 teams: red, blue, green and striped– and each team prepared the same meals. It was also a teambuilding exercise for the staff. It was a lot of fun and we very much enjoyed helping our community while feeding our bodies and souls!
