In 1986, our founding physician Dr. Rodney Lyles established and directed the In Vitro Fertilization/GIFT program at St. Luke’s Hospital-Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri with Dr. Jack Betts. Then, in 1988, Dr. Lyles founded Reproductive Resource Center of Greater Kansas City in Overland Park, Kansas. RRC quickly became the region’s leading innovator in fertility services and has remained an innovator for over 35 years.
Dr. Lyles retired at the end of 2009, leaving RRC in the very experienced hands of Dr. Celeste Brabec who had joined the practice in 1999. An amazing staff of nurse practitioners, nurses, embryologists and support personnel round out the office.
RRC was the first in the Kansas City region to perform a number of technologically advanced techniques including ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection), a Donor Egg Program, Blastocyst Culture, Cryopreservation of Blastocysts, and On-Site Embryo Biopsy for Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Single Gene Mutations, 24 Chromosome Aneuploidy Screening or both. Throughout its history, RRC has consistently provided high pregnancy rates, while maintaining low high-order multiple rates.
