Kim Kardashian and sister Kourtney appeared on “TODAY” Tuesday morning to talk about the new season of their reality show, “Kim and Kourtney Take Miami,” but the soon-to-be mom (her due date is July, 2013) also shared a few more baby-related surprises.
Kardashian, 32, also revealed that she was happy to hear of her own pregnancy because she suffers from fertility issues not unlike her sister, Khloe Kardashian Odom.
“Khloe has been very open about her fertility issues (irregular ovulation) and I think I was always really kind of quiet about mine,” she said. “I have similar issues, and so it was a pleasant surprise when so many doctors were telling me one thing and then the opposite happens.”
“That’s an exciting moment, you can plan for things like that,” she added. “So I think it’s just such a blessing knowing my circumstances.”
The reality star says the new season of their show will delve further into the fertility issue. Khloe Kardashian has previously explained that like many other women, she thought it would be easy to have a baby. She thought that since her mother, Kris Jenner, had so many children, it would also be easy for her to have a family.
It is often helpful when celebrities and other high-profile people come forward and talk about their infertility issues. It makes the problem seem more “real” and reinforces the fact that many are facing and struggling with the very same thing. 2012 was a blessing for celebrity couple Bill and Giuliana Rancic— in the face of cancer and infertility, they became parents via surrogate.
If you are struggling with achieving pregnancy, you might want to make an appointment with a Reproductive Endocrinologist. We have two here at RRC. As we’ve written before in our blog, an infertility workup should always include the following: Semen Analysis, Assessment of Ovulation, Egg Quality/Quantity (Ovarian Reserve) Testing, and Evaluation of Uterus, Tubes and Female Anatomy. Any abnormalities in these areas will lead to additional testing, which in turn influences the eventual course of treatment.
