At RRC, we pride ourselves on being innovative, compassionate infertility specialists. Patients have come to us from all over the world! You may be at the beginning of your treatment journey. Or, you might be to the point where you’re considering Advanced Reproductive Technology (ART) to achieve pregnancy. Over 3000 babies have been born to RRC patients as a result of ART.
Either way, these are 10 important questions to ask. Print them off and take them with you! Remember what we always say: You are your own best advocate for your reproductive health!
1. How many liveborns have resulted from the clinic’s ART program?
2. Are the success rates of the ART program calculated based on the results of procedures performed at their on-site IVF lab?
3. In the last two years, how many liveborns have resulted from the clinic’s ART program?
4. What is the total cost for an IVF cycle? (This should include medications, lab work, procedures, etc.)
5. When was the clinic established?
6. Is the physician a board certified Reproductive Endocrinologist?
7. Is the clinic a member of the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART)?
8. Are the clinic’s statistics reported annually to SART?
9. Is the clinic’s laboratory accredited through the College of American Pathologists (CAP)?
10. Specifically, which Assisted Reproductive Technologies (i.e., IVF, GIFT, ICSI, cryopreservation, etc.) does the clinic perform, and what are the success rates for each (as reported to SART)?
Remember to compare apples to apples when comparing one clinic’s success rates to another’s. And ask for their statistics in writing!
