Reproductive Resource Center (RRC), a Kansas City-based reproductive health, infertility and in-vitro fertilization (IVF) center, is pleased to announce that Dr. S. Samuel Kim has joined the practice as Director of Fertility Preservation.
With 20 years of experience in clinical reproductive medicine and surgery, Dr. Kim is a highly-esteemed clinician and scientist whose reputation as a pioneer in ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation has been recognized worldwide. He joins RRC to grow their fertility preservation program and to expand groundbreaking technologies to address fertility challenges after cancer treatment as well as for those women seeking to delay childbearing for personal reasons.
“We’re thrilled to bring this internationally renowned specialist in fertility preservation to Reproductive Resource Center,” said Dr. Celeste Brabec, Medical Director at RRC.
“Additionally, Dr. Kim is a compassionate and friendly physician who truly cares about the opportunity to extend fertility and the possibility of childbearing to his patients,” Brabec added.
Most recently, Dr. Kim was Professor and Division Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He performed the first human ovarian transplantation and reported the first baby from frozen eggs in Kansas.
Dr. Kim spearheaded the founding of the International Society for Fertility Preservation (ISFP) and served as the second president of ISFP. He is a sought after lecturer and his expertise and research has made worldwide news, including the BBC and NBC. Currently, Dr. Kim serves on the editorial board of four reputable medical journals including Fertility and Sterility.
Dr. Kim received his medical degree from Seoul National University College of Medicine and completed post graduate training at University of Washington, Seattle (Reproductive Endocrinology fellowship), University of Leeds, England (Postdoctoral Fellow in Reproductive Endocrinology), Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach (Fellow in Reproductive Surgery & Infertility) and Temple University Hospital (Chief Resident).
